Rosalie groaned as scratched her face with the back of her hand, careful not to get any of the black, sticky liquid on her skin. She leaned back over her car, ducking her head under it's propped up hood.

She had needed something to keep her busy, to keep her hands and mind occupied. She had spent over an hour fixing her hair into the updo it was currently in, just to past the time. With the wedding fast approaching, everyone had been just a little bit more tense, just a little bit more stressed in all of the preparations, and well, Rosalie couldn't say she was excluded from that.

She poked around the car engine, twisting and turning things with her wrench. In just a short while, her youngest (or was it oldest?) brother was going to be married. To a human. If you had told Rosalie this years ago, she would have scoffed indefinitely. And now; it seemed more realistic. And yet...

"I've said my piece," Rosalie muttered under her breath. "I've done what I can and if Bella still wants to be thrown into a life full of blood and immortality, then that's her choice. But under no circumstances will I listen to her complain and whine if she regrets her decision." She twisted a bolt fiercely. "Not at all."

Sighing heavily, she clutched the wrench in her hand. "I hope they know what they're getting into..."

She relaxed her fingers a moment later, and in them rested a dented, twisted piece of metal in the wrench's place. She tossed it to the side, more aggravated than before.

I'm still working on a more concrete plot for Rose, but I figured I'd start a thread so I can get more used to playing her and such. :)

Edward led Bella through the maze of cars in the Cullen's garage. He raised his finger to his lips to silence Bella once he spotted Rosalie, who was bent over, head first under one of the car's hoods. He could hear her muttering under her breath and reacted quickly when she launched a sharp piece of metal in his direction, catching it with one hand.

"I assume you weren't aiming for me?" he said examining the potential deadly weapon in his hands.
12th-Oct-2007 01:23 am (UTC)
Rosalie growled as she saw her brother and his finacee enter.

"No, but I had I known you'd be there, I would have."
12th-Oct-2007 01:10 am (UTC)
Feeling Rosalie's annoyance, anger ...and regret? made Jasper wince. Sometimes being an empath was worse than it sounded.
Gritting his teeth against Rosalie's somewhat predictable temper, he forced himself to venture into the garage.
"Hey Rosalie," he smiled charmingly at the blonde girl. "You feeling all right?"
12th-Oct-2007 01:25 am (UTC)
Hearing something behind her, Rosalie glanced away from Edward and Bella. She sighed as she saw Jasper.

"Hello, Jasper," she said, gritting her teeth. Everyone was just out to annoy her even more, weren't they? "I'm feeling just fine, thank you."

She ignored the fact that lying was simply useless.
12th-Oct-2007 01:30 am (UTC)
Edward rolled his eyes at Rosalie's loving comment. He watched Jasper come in and listened to his brother and sister speak, picking Bella up and sitting her on the hood of one of their sturdier cars.
12th-Oct-2007 01:37 am (UTC)
Rosalie stiffened. "Cars are not couches, Edward. Careful not to scratch the paint."

She moved past Jasper and walked to the other side of the garage and began digging through her tool box in search of another wrench.
12th-Oct-2007 01:37 am (UTC)
Bella knew what Rosalie was mad about and wanted more than anything to go into the house and find Alice. And then Edward put her on top of the car, and she had no choice but to stay there, tension so thick you could cut it with a knife.

She looked down at her hands.
12th-Oct-2007 01:37 am (UTC)
Letting the subject drop, rather than incur Rosalie's wrath as Edward had, Jasper watched her warily. "If you say so, Rose. Just don't kill the car."
12th-Oct-2007 01:39 am (UTC)
"I'm not going to kill my car, Jasper!" Rosalie hissed, smashing things around the toolbox. Where was the damn wrench?
12th-Oct-2007 01:46 am (UTC)
"You left it under the hood," Edward offered with a smile.
12th-Oct-2007 01:48 am (UTC)
Manipulating the tense surroundings in order to calm Rosalie down, he kept his eyes on her hands. No point in getting hit by some tool. "Sorry, sister. My mistake."
12th-Oct-2007 01:52 am (UTC)
Feeling the wave of calm spread over her, Rosalie was both thankful and even more aggravated. It was for the best, really. She glanced at Bella out of the corner of her eye, who looked tense and uncomfortable.

As much as she was still opposed to the whole situation, she didn't want the girl knotting into a tense ball of anxiety.

"Thank you, Edward," she said sharply, walking back over to the car. "Thank you, Jasper." she added as well. She ducked back under the hood again.

"Now if you're all done aggravating me, you can leave."
12th-Oct-2007 02:02 am (UTC)
"Are you sure you want to be alone? Sometimes a good fight can make you feel better," Jasper offered with a grin.
12th-Oct-2007 02:06 am (UTC)
"And we know fighting is one of your best qualities, sister," Edward smiled. He looked at Bella and rubbed her legs reassuringly.
12th-Oct-2007 02:18 am (UTC)
"Maybe you should just leave her alone," Bella muttered.
12th-Oct-2007 02:34 am (UTC)
Edward furrowed his eyebrows and examined Bella. "It's ok, sweetheart. Rosalie is normally like this. We don't mean any harm by it."
12th-Oct-2007 02:37 am (UTC)
Rosalie looked out from underneath the hood. "I'm just curious Edward. Would you like me to throw this wrench at your head? Cause I'll gladly do it. I need to practice my aim for baseball!"

She grit her teeth again. "And why would I want to have a fight? I'm not confronting anyone, am I? And I do believe that I said that I was fine!"

12th-Oct-2007 02:40 am (UTC)
"Why would I want you to throw a wrench at my head?" Edward chuckled. He decided to end the game.

"I know you are not fine, Rosalie. I heard you when we walked in. Would you like to talk about it?"
12th-Oct-2007 02:42 am (UTC)
Rosalie glanced again at Bella and swallowed, her throat suddenly very, very dry.

"It's not important, Edward. There is nothing to discuss."

She added under her breath:

"Nothing that you don't already know, anyway."
12th-Oct-2007 02:50 am (UTC)
"Bella knows the consequences. She is fully aware. I wouldn't let her do this otherwise. It is her choice." Edward spoke in a soft voice so only Rosalie (and Jasper) could hear.
12th-Oct-2007 02:58 am (UTC)
"She knows now," Rosalie hissed, her voice equally as quiet. "While she's human. Things could change after, Edward. Does she really know what she's going to be like after the change? Do any of us?!"

She glared, her eyes cold.
12th-Oct-2007 03:48 am (UTC)
"I have made it quite clear to her, Rosalie," he hissed, still too quiet for Bella to hear.

He didn't need this. He didn't want the doubts to come back. Going in circles was so tiring, and time was running out. Bella had made her decision. She understood what she was giving up, what could happen.

"She will have us to help her. She won't do it alone."
12th-Oct-2007 03:55 am (UTC)
Rosalie pursed her lips. She couldn't help but shake the feeling that something about this was wrong, but damn, it was impossible to get her point across.

"And I will help her all that I can if she's willing, if she's happy." She paused. "But don't think for one minute I'll help pick up the pieces if she's not, Edward. That's your place. It will not burden the rest of us."

She sighed. If she were able to have a headache, she would have one now.
12th-Oct-2007 04:14 am (UTC)
Edward let out a deep growl and clenched his jaw. "I know it is my responsibility, Rosalie!" he shouted, unable to contain his growing anger. "Don't worry. We won't burden you!" He took Bella's hand, forgetting to be gentle with her, and turned to his sister again.

"It's not going to be easy for her, just like it wasn't easy for any of us. She'll do things she'll regret, but that is the way everyone lives their lives. No path is perfect!"
12th-Oct-2007 04:18 am (UTC)
Bella shook her hand from Edward's, using all her strength, "I knew you were talking about me!" she hissed at him, "We've gone through this over and over and over! I'm sick of it!"

Spinning on her heels, she ran out of the garage, hoping Edward would be too shocked to respond. She needed to get to Alice. Alice would calm her down.
12th-Oct-2007 12:09 pm (UTC)
Rosalie stared after Bella, her jaw tense. "You knew what I was thinking, what I was upset about Edward," she said softly, coldly. "And yet you pushed it anyway. Why'd you even bother? If you're both so certain in the decision, why did you even discuss it with me? All it did was upset her in the end."
13th-Oct-2007 07:40 am (UTC)
Edward turned to run after Bella, but froze, infuriated, as Rosalie spoke.

"You've never approved of any decision made regarding Bella," he spat. "Why do you even care? You say don't bring the subject up, but it's all you ever complain about. Why can't you just accept it, Rose! Stay out of it!"
14th-Oct-2007 01:15 am (UTC)
"I'm sorry I have a little bit of trouble accepting the unordinary, Edward!" Rosalie spat. "So, fine! I'll stay out of it! But this a situation that not only affects our family, but a human life! I'm sorry I gave my input!"
14th-Oct-2007 04:17 am (UTC)
"Nothing about us is ordinary, Rose!" Edward shouted. "If you want to live your life with regrets, fine, but don't assume everyone is like you."

Edward ran out of the garage in a rage. He paused behind a tree as he saw Bella talking to Alice. He wanted so much to go to her, but he couldn't control himself. He needed to calm down.

In the distance, he heard Jasper walking in the woods. If anything, Jasper could help him control his anger. He ran off into the thick trees.
14th-Oct-2007 04:20 am (UTC)
Rosalie stood in the garage. Alone. She placed her head in her hands.

"Damnit," she muttered, before making her way out of the garage. She kicked her toolbox on the way out.

And then, promptly slammed the door.
