Emmett and Rosalie.What:
Emmett comforts Rosalie after she talks to Alice.Where:
Rosalie and Emmett's room.When:
Emmett was hunting alone. He sometimes enjoyed a bit of solitude -- not for long periods of time, of course, but sometimes he just needed to be by himself. It was relaxing, but he'd been away for a while and he needed to get back home.
A sprint to the garage door from the surrounding forest, and he was there in a second. He furrowed his brow; the garage was strangely, eerily empty. Emmett had thought Rosalie might be there, but it was more than just that. It felt to him as though everyone in the house were strictly avoiding the garage.
This made no sense, but he shrugged it off. He wasn't the mind-reader, the empath, or the fortune-teller, so what did he know?
Emmett walked into the house through the connecting door. It had a huge dent in the middle of it, as though someone had kicked it shut.
Ah. So there had been a fight.
Emmett made his way upstairs, noticing no one on his way. At the door to his and Rosalie's room, he heard his wife breathing very deeply.
He winced. He'd been afraid of that.
He opened the door slowly, carefully. Stepping inside and closing it behind him, he said, concerned: "Rosalie? What's wrong?"
One must be very gentle with an angry Rosalie. He'd learned this the hard way.
